Duncan Aitchison is President of TPI EMEA. Duncan brings not only more than 20 years of business development and management experience, but also an in-depth knowledge of global IT and business process outsourcing markets, to both TPI and its clients.

Since joining TPI, he has overseen a more than sixfold increase in size of its international operations. This has included significant geographic expansion in Germany, Switzerland, Scandinavia, Singapore and Japan.

Immediately prior to joining TPI, Duncan was the Head of Global Outsourcing with Capgemini, a position that was a culmination of progressively more responsible management positions throughout his 17-year career with the International Business and IT services firm.

In this capacity, he defined and led the company’s global outsourcing business, as well as overseeing major international transactions. Previously, Duncan was responsible for the U.K. outsourcing business, which he ran for the three years that spanned Cap Gemini’s merger with Ernst & Young.

On previous client engagements in the area of outsourcing, offshoring and shared services, Michael has:

  • Developed a new operating model for a leading global investment bank in order to increase operations resiliency and improve cost position. Repositioned more than 2,000 FTEs across centers in Eastern Europe, Asia and North America.
  • Developed an offshoring strategy for one of the leading global pharmaceutical companies resulting in the migration of over 1,000 FTEs to Asia.
  • Assisted a leading transportation and logistics player in setting up a near-shore IT center in the Czech Republic (1,200 FTEs).
  • Helped a global leader in the software industry to leverage offshoring opportunities for their IT organization (800 FTEs), with a special focus on India, China and Malaysia.
  • Assisted a number of clients in designing shared services strategies to significantly transform the performance of their support functions.
  • Assessed the viability of and then developed an outsourcing strategy focused on IT application development for a major European financial institution.
  • Assisted a leading airline industry supplier in building an outsourcing business, from identifying target clients to negotiating outsourcing deals
  • Assisted the design, structuring and negotiation of a € 1 billion business process outsourcing deal in the Finance and Accounting areas (impacting 1,500 people worldwide) for a major transportation company.

In the IT Management and Strategy area, in addition to assisting a number of clients in redefining their IT organization and governance models, Michael has:

  • Developed a transformation program for the European IT organization of one of world’s largest pharmaceutical companies. Built a regional IT function to be more closely aligned with their changing business model.
  • Led the merger of three IT organizations for one of the leading global transportation players, resulting in an organization of over 6,000 IT specialists, and helped this organization across multiple areas over the last 36 months to raise its performance to the next level of efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Led the diagnostic of the IS function at a global air-express company, and prepared a turnaround plan to reduce its overall IT spend by €70 million and improve global IT effectiveness.
  • Led an IT transformation program for a global professional services firm to create a high-performance IT organization closely aligned with its business strategy.

Prior to McKinsey, Michael was a researcher at the University of California (Berkeley) and at New York University. Before that, he worked for Unicible (a Swiss outsourcer for the banking industry) where he managed business process redesign and software development projects.

Michael received a M.S. in Business Information Systems and a B.A. in Economics and Business Administration from Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland.

A dual citizen of Switzerland and France, he is fluent in French and English.

Charles has been employed by UPS for more than 35 years and has served in a variety of operational, Human Resources, and Procurement related positions. During the span of his career at UPS, he has advanced from a part time role on the warehouse floor to his current role as UPS Procurement Services Human Resources Manager. In addition, he is also responsible for enterprise-wide spending, and all related purchasing responsibilities for temporary staffing services.

He has over 15 years of human resources experience at UPS relating to organizational development, employee relations, recruitment, training, management development, HRIS, benefits and salary administration, and legal and compliance issues. In addition, Charles has nearly 10 years of experience in the procurement and contracting environment with specific experience related to HR services.

In 1999, Charles was the HR Team Lead for the first sourcing team initiative at UPS to utilize a cross-functional sourcing approach, the total ownership cost concept, and the application of strategic sourcing methodology. This successfully implemented sourcing initiative resulted in substantial cost savings and numerous process improvements and was instrumental in the implementation of Strategic Supply Management at UPS.

Charles is also responsible for UPS’s supplier diversity outreach efforts for the Third Party Services spend category. He has developed and implemented a successful category Diverse Supplier Mentorship Program strategy that has helped UPS dramatically improve its efforts in reaching Supplier Diversity goals and objectives. He has been nominated for the Staffing Buyer of the Year by the Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council for the past five consecutive years.

More recently, his activities have been focused on sourcing opportunities specifically related to HR outsourcing such as, healthcare benefits, tuition reimbursement, SUTA administration, behavioral health applications, employee voluntary benefits program administration, global VMS/MSP temporary staffing services program, RPO, outplacement services, and other areas of HR services procurement.

Charles earned his bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Cabrini College in Philadelphia, Pa.

Elly Bond is a manager in the Europe, West Africa, Eurasia, Middle East (EWAEME) HR Shared Services group at Chevron United Kingdom Ltd. She is currently responsible for employment and expatriate taxes in the UK, covering both inbound and outbound assignees. Her role involves managing the contracts and outsourced services for payroll, tax and associated service providers. She has been with Chevron for 3 years.

Prior to this, Elly worked as an independent consultant providing training services and advice and assistance to companies who required help with their expatriate programme. She also spent 7 years in Practice (4 of those as a manager) responsible for providing expatriate payroll services to in excess of 100 clients.

Erica was instrumental in the official launch and responsible for acquiring one of the first end to end RPO's in China. She built and trained the execution team and delivered on the client’s expectations. This success contributed to receiving the CCH/China STAFF Recruitment Firm of the Year Award for the third year running.

Erica initially moved to Hong Kong to assist the Group expand throughout Asia. As Head of Performance Development for Asia, she was responsible for creating an induction program for new hires and a “Career Track” program for consultants. In that capacity, she delivered desk audits to hundreds of employees across Asia.

Promoted to Managing Director, she was responsible for key accounts, business revenue, contract negotiations, P&L, staff recruitment and training. Erica created a part time program for executive women with young children looking to get back into the workforce. Under her leadership, MRI Hong Kong Office was the top performing office in Asia in 2006.

Prior to Asia, she was at the forefront of outsourcing innovations in the U.S. and the Middle East. Erica was the Managing Director for AccuStaff Incorporated which was acquired by Randstad. Under her tenure, Erica negotiated and delivered a cross border enterprise outsourcing project with Discovery Channel Latin America which resulted in a multi-million dollar Global contract. She was also the principal owner of an Executive Search Firm based in Miami, Florida. As an entrepreneur with her Florida firm, Erica ran a desk as a US$1 million dollar biller with 24 consultants.

Erica has been formally trained and is a certified trainer in RPO project management, AEJ, Next Steps, Acclivus, Sales Negotiation, Behavioural Interviewing, Cultural Diversity, Management by Empowerment and Train the Trainer by The Provant Group.

Erica holds a bachelor degree in Business and Communications and a Post Graduate degree in International Business. She speaks English, Spanish, French, basic Arabic and Mandarin.

Greet has 13 years’ experience in the recruitment industry. Starting her career with Robert Half in Belgium, Greet went to establish and manage operations in Germany. In 2000, she become European Business Development Manager and was responsible for enhancing operational excellent in under-performing locations. After successfully managing various international projects, Greet moved to the UK and then later to Holland where she was Director of Dutch operations. Scott has over 20 years of experience assisting clients in transforming their general and administrative functions including finance and accounting, human resources, information technology and procurement. Scott advises clients in transforming their functions including the design and implementation of alternative service delivery models including shared services, offshoring, business process outsourcing (BPO) and commercializing existing shared service centers.  Scott has extensive experience in shared services design, implementation and operations, including outsourcing and offshoring.  Scott has designed, implemented, or improved over 30 shared service centers around the world in North America, Eastern and Western Europe, India, China, and Australia.

In addition to client services, Scott has developed a comprehensive, firm-level offshoring study that was jointly conducted with the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. The study has developed some unique data and insights into the world of offshoring and is being leveraged into an executive education program.

Prior to joining TPI, Scott was a Principal at Archstone Consulting. In this role, he led the Outsourcing Advisory Services practice area for both BPO and IT outsourcing clients and service providers. He developed the methodology, intellectual capital and philosophy. At Gunn Partners, Inc., Scott was a Partner and a Client Lead, where he served as a global leader in the SG&A Shared Services Practice and a member of the leadership team, with joint responsibilities for development in Europe. His engagements included developing SG&A strategies and broad transformation initiatives for general and administrative processes, developing business partnerships between the corporate functions and line management, and organizational design. At Babcock & Wilcox, Scott worked as an Administrator of Business Process Improvement. His responsibilities included leading multiple transformation efforts and starting up and facilitating their Total Quality Management program. Prior to Babcock & Wilcox, Scott was a Manager at A.T. Kearney.

Dr Anthony Hesketh, BSc, PhD is Senior Lecturer in the 6*-Rated Management School at Lancaster University. His research focuses on capturing the impact of people strategy on organizational performance. An expert in talent management, Anthony researches and consults with some of the world’s leading organisations on outsourcing, human capital management and its measurement. Recent books include The Mismanagement of Talent (Oxford University Press, 2004), Understanding the Performance of HR (Cambridge University Press, 2008) and Leading HR (Palgrave, 2009) He was the founding Director of the Centre for Performance-Led HR at Lancaster – which has amongst its members some of the UK’s most influential HR Directors, a founding member of the HROA Europe Board, and for which he heads the Research Committee. Under John’s leadership, BearingPoint distinguished itself as a leader in the deployment of classroom learning, simulation based learning, blended learning, and e-learning delivery. John also served as a faculty member in several of BearingPoint leadership development programs.

In addition to his role as Chief Learning Officer, John held several executive positions during his career at BearingPoint and KPMG, including a client partner role in Communications & High Tech, and a solutions partner in Customer Relationship Management. Prior to BearingPoint, John spent fourteen years with IBM in various operations, sales and consulting leadership roles.

John received his Master of Business Administration with a major in international business from the University of Miami, and a Bachelor of Science in management from Nova Southeastern University. Duncan joined Accenture in 2000. He has played a key role in the growth strategy of the company’s HR BPO offering. Prior to his current role, Duncan was the account management lead for British Telecommunications (BT). He was responsible for the transformation the HR services provided to BT and was instrumental in the 10-year contract extension in 2005 – a landmark in the industry as the first multiple process HRO contract renewed and extended to global coverage.

Duncan has over 17 years of experience in HR. Prior to joining Accenture, Duncan was a European HR Director for Perot Systems and an HR Director for Cable & Wireless where he was responsible for the transformation and outsourcing of core HR services. His expertise lies in driving measurable business value through the alignment of HR strategy with an organization’s business objectives and the delivery of repeatable, measurable and predicable services.

Duncan lives with his wife in Kent, UK. Whilst Duncan is a self-confessed workaholic, he does enjoy skiing, scuba diving, anything related to fast cars and fine wines.

Professor Moore has conducted research on international trade theory and policy at the George Washington University since receiving his doctorate in 1988. He has published numerous articles in leading academic journals and has contributed to four books on trade issues. His published work include studies of U.S. trade policy, administered protection in the multilateral trading system, the determinants of foreign direct investment, and the economics of the US and European steel industries, especially their adjustment to international competition and the growth of minimills.

Professor Moore served as Senior Economist for International Trade at the White House Council of Economic Advisers from July 2002 through July 2003 and recently acted as an unpaid adviser to the presidential campaign of Senator John McCain. He also regularly provides lectures to US diplomats at the U.S. Department of State’s Foreign Service Institute and graduate students at the Fondation Nationale des Sciences Politiques (“Sciences-Po”) in Paris. Professor Moore was Associate Dean of the Elliott School from 1995 through 1997 and was founding director of the International Trade and Investment Policy Program at the Elliott School.
